- See Trash from your home screen.New widget: how many photos are staged for deletion and how much space confirming would free, at a glance — tap it to jump straight to Trash. Once you're all clear it shows your all-time freed total instead, and the medium size adds a six-month chart of freed space. iPhone and iPad also get circular and rectangular lock-screen styles.
- Full VoiceOver support.The swipe deck reads each photo as a single element — date, size, iCloud state — with rotor actions for Keep, Delete and View Full. The Trash grid announces each photo's date, size and selection state, and the monthly stats chart reads out month by month.
- Purchases always talk back.Restore Purchases now confirms what happened — restored, nothing to restore on this Apple Account, or failed with the reason. Ask to Buy explains that approval is pending and unlocks automatically once approved. And a failed purchase tells you why instead of silently doing nothing.
- Fixes and reliability.An empty month no longer claims it's "all tidy"; review history moved to a sturdier database store with a safer upgrade migration; plus a batch of stability fixes from a full code audit.

- Just ask how much is left.New Siri Shortcut, Check Trash — without opening Flick, ask how many photos are waiting and how much space deleting them would reclaim. It returns the photo count as a value, so you can build it into Shortcuts automations: remind me once Trash reaches 50 photos, say.
- Shortcuts can jump straight to a month.New action, Clean Up a Month: give it a month and Flick opens right into that month's swipe deck. Pair it with a date automation to sweep last month on a schedule.
- Fixed.On the Smart Groups screen, tapping the small thumbnails at the bottom of a card opened the next group. Thumbnails now open their own card's group, the same as tapping the cover.

- Clean up by month. Tap the progress capsule at the top of the swipe screen and pick a month to focus on. Every month shows its photo count, size, estimated savable space and a photo thumbnail — sortable by savable, by size or by time. Finish one month, pick the next. iCloud-only libraries get the month list too: sizes come straight from iCloud metadata, no downloads needed.
- Four new achievements. Ten-Thousand Legend, 10 GB Summit, Month Cleared and Half-Year Sweep — every month you finish counts.
- More careful, more yours. Possibly Blurry only pre-selects photos that are definitively blurry, leaving borderline shots for you to judge; the Similar Groups sensitivity you pick in Settings now sticks instead of being quietly overridden by auto-calibration.
- Fixes and efficiency. Siri Shortcuts now work while Flick is already open; Exact Duplicates on iCloud-only libraries no longer shrink after a network hiccup; and background analysis eliminated repeated metadata reads and clustering, so long scans use less battery.
v1.4.0 — July 9, 2026
- A new free plan — and no trial clock. The 7-day trial is gone. Scanning, Smart Groups, previews and staging photos in the Trash are free forever, and you can confirm deletion for up to 20 photos or 100 MB at no cost. Past that, one lifetime purchase unlocks unlimited cleanup across iPhone, iPad and Mac, with Family Sharing. Already own Flick Pro? Nothing changes for you. The unlock screen now spells out the full allowance and exactly how much you have left.
- Visually Similar groups tune themselves. Flick was always designed to calibrate its similarity threshold against bursts from your own library, but a cache-lookup bug made that calibration silently fail every time. Fixed — the threshold now adapts to how you actually shoot, and Smart Groups shows a calibration badge once it lands.
- Steadier analysis. Fixed a rare timing issue where the library changing just as a scan wrapped up (common during iCloud sync) could scramble the progress display or start two overlapping scans. Also removed the "Only process photos downloaded to this device" switch in Settings — it never actually did anything.
v1.3.2 — June 13, 2026
- Analysis no longer gets stuck. Fixed iCloud-optimized libraries getting wedged on "Analyzing…" with Smart Groups stalled at 0. Analysis now works from local thumbnails instead of waiting on iCloud downloads, runs the Vision work off the main pool so it can't deadlock, and isn't interrupted by the constant change notifications a syncing library fires — so it actually runs to completion.
- Smoother throughout. Reading photo sizes no longer janks the swipe deck, and assorted startup/console noise is gone.

- Tap a card to see the whole photo. Long screenshots, wide shots and panoramas no longer show just the cropped center strip — tap a card while swiping and the full image fills the screen, scrolls along its long edge, pinches to zoom for detail, and pinches back out to a whole-image overview. Keep / Delete are right there, so you decide the moment you recognize it — no trip back to Photos. Strip images show a "View full" hint on the card.

- Ignore groups. Long-press a group card and pick "Ignore This Group" — similar-photo groups where every shot is a keeper stop squatting in your list. Restore anytime from Settings; a group returns by itself when new photos join it.
- Redesigned swipe screen. The photo card is about a quarter taller on iPhone, and progress lives in one capsule up top — ring, percent and remaining in a single glance. Tap it to jump to Stats.
- "Rebuild Groups" replaces "Rescan All Photos". Re-clusters with your current settings and analyzes only new or edited photos — seconds instead of minutes.
- No more freezing during analysis. Fixed swipe cards and Trash thumbnails refusing to load while a scan ran.
- Steadier Groups screen. Groups appear smoothly as analysis progresses; fixed the loop where cards appeared and vanished repeatedly.
- Honest progress numbers. iCloud-heavy libraries no longer show "0 analyzed", and the analysis bar no longer disappears early.

- Two-column Smart Groups on wide screens. Landscape iPhone and iPad show two columns of group cards; a wide Mac window fits more. Portrait iPhone stays single-column.
- Thumbnail strip fixes. Strips on group cards no longer stay stuck on gray placeholders for freshly imported photos, and no longer overflow the card edge on narrower screens.
- Mac title bar cleanup. Removed the duplicate "Flick" in the window title bar — the sidebar already carries the name.

- Sidebar on iPad and Mac. On wide screens a sidebar replaces the bottom tabs. iPhone stays unchanged.
- ★ best shot in every group. Bursts, exact duplicates, similar and blurry groups mark their best photo with a ★. Open Details and the rest are already selected — review, then Trash in one tap. Long-press a card for "Keep ★ only" or "Trash whole group".
- Siri & Shortcuts. "Clean up photos with Flick", "Show Trash in Flick" — phrases work in all five languages.
- iCloud-optimized libraries. Exact Duplicates detection now runs on local thumbnails alone, no original downloads. A banner explains Basic mode and turns on iCloud loading in one tap.

- Actionable errors. Network, permission and storage problems each show a button that actually fixes them.
- Onboarding & celebration. A new page explains the four tabs, a skip button for returning users, and finishing your deck ends with a proper celebration.

- Now on Mac. Flick ships as a verified Mac app via Mac Catalyst. Same Bundle ID as iOS, so one purchase covers iPhone, iPad, and Mac.
- Fullscreen photo preview in Details. Tap any thumbnail to see the full photo at its original aspect ratio. Swipe left/right between photos with native Photos.app feel. iCloud-only photos load on demand. Toggle "Trash" right inside the preview.
- Independent selection target. The little checkmark in the corner of each thumbnail is now its own tap area — tap the photo body to preview, tap the circle to select.
- Sharper photos everywhere. Groups card covers, the Details grid, and the Trash grid render at higher resolution — previously soft on iPad and on wide Mac windows.
- Details deletion fix. After tapping "Trash N", the selected photos vanish from the grid immediately instead of waiting for a reopen.
- New Photo Access section in Settings. If you'd granted only limited access, you can adjust the selection or jump to system Settings to upgrade to full access — Flick auto-detects the change when you return.
- Auto-retry iCloud loads. When you turn on iCloud loading, previously-failed cards retry themselves — no more tapping Retry on every card.
- Swipe deck recovery. Photos restored from Trash (or undone) correctly reappear in the swipe queue.
- Removed: smart-pick bar on group cards. SwiftUI on Mac Catalyst couldn't reliably attach gesture handlers to that button on cards added dynamically during analysis. The Details flow still gives you the same outcome — multi-select inside the group, then Trash.
v1.0.4 — Spring 2026
- Stats redesigned. Ring dials for cleanup progress, a hero counter for total GB freed, monthly bar charts in Swift Charts, and a horizontally scrolling achievements shelf.
- Smart Suggestions became a preview panel. Tap a suggestion, see thumbnails, pick which photos to keep, then confirm. Nothing gets deleted without a look.
- "Pending bin" became "Trash" across the whole app — onboarding, paywall, toasts, empty states. Matches the Photos app's "Recently Deleted" concept.
- First-time library scan runs 4-way concurrent. A 30,000-photo library drops from 10+ minutes to 2–3.
- "Detail" buttons on group cards no longer drop taps while you're scrolling fast.
- "Rescan all photos" in Settings now shows progress: the button turns into a spinner labeled "Rescanning…", and the confirmation warns that large libraries can take a few minutes.
- Translation polish across all five languages — fixed mistranslations, aligned with Apple's system terminology, and filled in missing Stats labels.
